cats in a home become it's visible soulIf ever there were a creature of habit, it would be the domesticated cat. They have preferred napping spots, favorite toys, and enjoy the peacefulness of their quiet home.

Cats, as individuals, know when their people are not home. They do miss them.

YOU HAVE A CHOICE

Cat care while you’re away is fundamental for these regal characters. Their well-being depends on it. Although they enjoy their solitude, human interaction is still necessary.

Boarding at a local kennel or veterinarian hospital are certainly options to consider, however, having your kitty stay in her own home is, on our opinion, the best choice.

CATS DON’T TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES

Daily visits to care for your cat’s basic needs is crucial, but it also is a time for her to have human interaction as well.

Occasionally we get a potential new client who asks for ‘every other day’ care because “you won’t see Fifi anyway” or “they have enough food and water to last.” Our reply – NO.

We don’t ignore cats.

We pride ourselves with expert care for all animals. Some clients book for once a day visits, while others book us for 2, even 3 visits per day.

At Waggs & Purrs Pet Sitting, cat care requires a minimum of one daily visit. No exceptions.

HERE’S WHY…

  • Cats can accidentally shut themselves in a room.
  • They could develop a medical condition or emergency, sometimes within 24-48 hours. If a trip to the vet is required, a major crisis may be averted.
  • Hazards in the home like drapery cords, electrical cords, small twist times, Legos, plastic bags…the list is endless. Cats seem to excel at getting into things when no one is around.
  • The temperature in the home is watched. Here in Texas, our summers can create hot & humid conditions very quickly if the A/C goes out.
  • We monitor not only the input but the output.
  • We are litter box extraordinaires and cat-approved! We never leave a visit without scooping all litter boxes. Sprinkled litter on the floor is swept up or shaken out of rugs.
  • Warm lap naps are our favorite! When the chores are done, we enjoy purring kitties who want to be petted or brushed. Attention, attention, attention…
  • Any necessary medications are administered as required.
  • A quiet and familiar atmosphere is maintained – routines are kept without sudden changes.
  • Feral colonies will have continued care as well.

For the scaredy or shy cats – those who like to hide, we look for them in their favorite hiding spots. We aim to “eyeball” every furry family member to assess their well-being.

SAFE AND SECURE

Lastly, homeowners feel secure knowing their home is visited daily. Mail and newspapers are collected. Lights and blinds are cycled.

We’re passionate about providing the best care for your furry family members, whether it’s through our pet sitting services or sharing helpful tips and insights. If you have any questions or want to learn more about how we can support your pet’s well-being, feel free to reach out to us.
