Dogs are always looking for a treat and who can resist their smiling mugs when they dance around to entice your good virtue knowing his weakness. With my pack, I practice “nothing in life is free”…nothing received if not earned. As long as my pups sit, lie down or practice a substantial stay cue, they receive a reward. As tempting as it is to present a scrumptious bone from a box, a healthier alternative are veggies from the fridge.
Surprisingly, there are several vegetable varieties that will make your doggie dance the jig. Of course, as with all food, portion sizes are important so do measure out small snack sizes that will accompany your dog’s regular kibble. No need to season either…dogs do not need the same savory toppings as we do such as salt, pepper, butter or gravy. Vegetables are low-fat and high in fiber with nutrients they may not receive in full from their dog food.
Here are 10 vegetables you can feed your dog:
Asparagus ~ Broccoli Florets ~ Brussels Sprouts ~ Carrots ~ Cauliflower ~ Cucumbers ~ Green Beans ~ Peas ~ Sweet Potatoes ~ Potatos

Not only will Fido enjoy these tasty treats, but how fun to share a handful of carrots with them…give yourself a treat for raising a healthy pooch.
Remember to NEVER feed your dog onions, garlic, wild mushrooms and rhubarb. Also avoid grapes, raisins, chocolate, macadamia nuts, peaches, plums and persimmons.
