The 2014 Puppy Up! Walk for Canine Cancer is scheduled for November 16th at McAllister Park in San Antonio, TX. This has been a yearly event in our area for the past four years and proves to be not only a great fundraising effort for cancer research for pets and people, but also a tail waggin’ good time too!

Puppy Up! Walks are held all over the country to raise awareness for cancer. The 2 Million Dogs Foundation is committed to finding the common links of canine and human cancers and the causes of these cancers through comparative oncology research. The event has booths, music, food, silent auctions, memory wall of pets and people, all culminates with a 2-mile walk through the shaded park. Dogs and their people show their solidarity in honoring those who must fight the cancer battle, celebrate those who’ve won and remember those lost to this horrible disease.

You can start a walk team of your own, join an existing team or walk as an individual or family. You and your dog(s) will enjoy the fun-filled day knowing you are doing your part to help in the cancer fight. Individual registration fees before November 2nd is $20 ($25 from Nov 3rd-13th). If you register on the day of the walk, it’s $40. Youth registration is only $10 and kids under 14 register for free. If your fundraising team raises $100, you receive a special event t-shirt.

Head over to the website NOW and get started. Everyone who has participated in the past says it was a special day, honoring pets and people who have been touched by cancer.

Cancer. Touches. Everyone.
